FAQs
FAQs
Q: Is mediating my divorce less expensive than litigating?
A: Rather than paying two attorneys to argue, you and your spouse are sharing the cost of one who has an interest in helping you resolve issues.
Q: What if my spouse doesn't want a divorce and refuses to communicate about it?
A: Schedule a consultation and send them a link to this site and the virtual consultation- Often a spouse will participate in a consultation if they know you plan to move forward with or without them. Both spouses need not attend the same consultation and can be encouraged to schedule their own after you have decided this is right for you.
Q: Can my spouse and I mediate if we don't get along?
A: Most divorcing couples have some acrimony- you don't have to get along to successfully mediate your divorce- you just need to agree it is better than litigation.
Q. My partner and I aren't married- do we still need your help?
A: Unmarried parents have legal rights and obligations also. We help unmarried parents create agreements pertaining to custody, parenting time and support of their children, which are then filed with the courts.
Q: If I mediate can I have independent legal counsel?
A: Yes. Many mediation participants are advised by independent legal counsel who can help them establish realistic positions, manage their expectations and advise of their legal rights.
